Internship and Fellowship Positions in Research Commercialization
A major goal of the Louisiana Vaccine Center is to promote the development of our research with the aim of clinical translation and commercialization. To further enhance our support of center faculty in areas of research collaboration and commercialization, we have established internship and fellowship programs, typically for law and business students and graduates, to perform in several areas including: aiding in the establishment of a database provides a single view of all available biotechnology resources in the area and providing LVC members with tailored one on one assistance in conjunction with the Technology Transfer Office to identify potential commercial opportunities. Biomedical Internship Program
This program, sponsored by the US Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, provides participants: Mentoring and support to complete a long-term biomedical research project; Exposure to research commercialization through interaction with university technology transfer; Specialized scientific laboratory expertise and knowledge in biotechnology commercialization through internships with bioscience companies housed at the New Orleans BioInnovation Center (NOBIC).
Program Requirements: Candidates should display a commitment and enthusiasm for research and an interest in biotechnology and research commercialization; Ability to dedicate up to 20 hours/week to the program; Student participants must attend a local university and maintain a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and preference to candidates entering their senior year of undergraduate studies.
