This facility is critical for work with pathogens that require bio-containment was originally established through LSUHSC and LEQSF Enhancement Funds. Vaccine Center enhancements have greatly enhanced the utility of this facility for Center Investigators through the purchase of specialized Animal Containment housing modules. The current focus of researchers using this facility is the study and development of vaccines against M. tuberculosis.
