LVC wins major grant from the Economic Development Administration in partnership with NOBIC

The LVC, through LSUHSC-NO, and NOBIC were recently awarded a $600,000 grant by the federal Economic Development Administration to further cultivate local innovation in biotechnology, advance high growth entrepreneurship, and train a skilled, knowledge-based life sciences workforce that will positively impact bioscience research and development in the region.  Through commercializable research, coordinated technology transfer efforts, workforce education and training for high-skill research positions, and commercialization services using skilled interns and fellows provided by the NOBIC, the Center will promote innovation of basic lab research into translation to commercial products and accelerate the development of high growth startups. The ultimate mission of the Center is to foster and advance the development of the life science industry in Southeast Louisiana.
