The Center has officially launched the Biomedical Internship Program sponsored through our Economic Development Administration grant in spring 2015.
The program provides participants with specialized laboratory experience and knowledge in biotechnology commercialization through an internship with a bioscience company housed at the New Orleans BioInnovation Center (NOBIC). Participants dedicate up to 20 hours/week to the program for 6 months.
Two participants are currently interning with host companies, InnoGenomics and LaCall, a forensics DNA analysis and a regenerative medicine company, respectively. The participants were recruited through their successful participation in the 2014 Summer Research Internship Program at LSUHSC New Orleans and a competitive application process.
